A great love story and a "must read" for everyone interested in WWII!
Excellent reading especially with a family connection to the army in WW In.
One of the best descriptions of WWII that I have ever read. It brought out details and timelines that were really helpful to my understanding of the War.
I gave this book 4 stars because it provided an intimate view of Eisenhower that I've not seen anywhere else. I've seen lots of books about Eisenhower's time in the Army and his tenure as president. Nothing that told me much about Eisenhower as a human being during a period in which his stress must have been unimaginable. There have always been rumors about Ike and his lady driver. For me this book settled that issue once and for all. For anyone who really wants to know Ike this book is a must. I would have given the book 5 stars for what I consider its historic value, but the book is in desperate need of a an edit; any edit at all would be an improvement. An eighth grader could do better. It had many words you had to guess what meaning was really intended by the author. This was not an issue of cross cultural misunderstanding, but simple lack of editing.
Good book but the typos makes it nearly impossible to read. Doesn't anyone review a kindle prior to being sold? Appalling! The book itself is a 5 rating but because of the typos it gets a 2 rating.
This is a valuable perspective on Ike's WWII challenges and activities. I only downgraded it because of the HORRIBLE typographical presentation. I doubt that any of this can be blamed on the author.
I've never seen a book so full of typographical errors; as many as several on a page. Enough so, that they seriously interrupt what would otherwise be a fascinating narrative.
